In his 50 years of restaurant experience, Chef Arturo Boada has created many locally recognized restaurants and accumulated national awards. A partial list includes 2005 - 2011 Arturo's Uptown Italiano, 2001 - 2005 Beso Restaurant, 1997 Esquire Magazine "Best New Restaurant" (Solero), 1997 USA Today's "Best New Restaurant" (Solero); 1998 Houston Press "Best Sangria and Best of Houston"; 1998 Latina Magazine "Best Hot Spot" in Houston; 1998 James Beard Foundation's Guest Chef, 2000 Inside Houston magazine's Houston's Top Chefs, and 1999, 2000, 2001 First Place – Houston International Paella Contest. Chef Boada's La Mer Restaurant won the prestigious Esquire Magazine "Best Restaurants in America" award in 1990. In 1992, he was designated as one of the "Top Rising Star Chefs in America" by Food & Wine Magazine. 

 

Chef Boada had the privilege of cooking for former President George Bush Sr. at a private home per the host's request. His cooking experience has also given him the opportunity to consult, create, and design restaurants nationally and internationally. He has advised in many departments, including concept creation, menu development, recipe development, and kitchen design and construction.

 

At present, Mr. Boada is the proud owner and operator of Arturo Boada Cuisine. This 20-table boutique neighborhood restaurant, nestled in the Tanglewood neighborhood, offers a unique blend of Spanish and Italian cuisine. The restaurant has been recognized with several awards, including the 2012 and 2016 Houston Press "Best Neighborhood Restaurant" and the 2012 Houston Press "100 Favorite Dishes." These accolades are a testament to the exceptional dining experience that Chef Boada and his team consistently deliver.
